Install Open Media Vault On Usb Stick

    Hi,

I have a home media server where OMV (2.2.14 (stoner burn)) is installed and wish to do a complete uninstall, but I haven't found any documentation on how to do that. Also, what happens when I do perform an uninstall? Will it wipe my media directories? I kind of do NOT want to loose all my media. Using a Linux live distro running off a flashdrive I see OMV has added a couple of files (or folders?) to each folder. I'm hoping a clean/proper uninstall will remove these and all OMV-related stuff and leave my directories/folders as they were before installing OMV. Is that the case?

    Thanks for any assistance,

Install Open Media Vault On Usb Stick Pc

Wiped usb stick (all partitions removed - burned the install iso file on a DVD - pulled all the disks in the proliant - so no disks attached during install - connected and usb dvd drive to the proliant and booted from it - booted from the DVD drive - installed open media vault on the usb stick. Partition the Disk before you install; Partition the Disk after you install; In either case, use the live CD from GParted to work on the disk partitions. Follow the instructions on the site linked if you have never partitioned something. It is super easy, you can do it! I'm trying to have OMV run from a usb stick on an old laptop to test things out. When it load I can successfully enter the boot menu to select USB, but the OS on th HDD always loads anyway. I created the usb stick with Etcher for windows with this iso file. My old laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L870D currently running LibreELEC.
